5 Easy Ways To Refresh Your Kitchen This Spring.

Here comes the sun, and we really couldn’t be happier about it. These bright, sunny days are the perfect time to give your home a little spring refresh – and your kitchen is a great place to start. Here are 5 easy ways to breathe a bit of new life into your kitchen this spring.

1. Out with the old.

You can’t have a spring refresh without some good old-fashioned spring cleaning. Start with your panty and fridge and go through each item of food carefully. Anything that’s stale or past its use-by date should be thrown, and you may want to consider implementing some new storage solutions for your food items at this stage (hello, new Tupperware).

Once you’ve tackled the pantry and fridge, it’s time to move on to the cupboards! Again, be ruthless. If things are sat gathering dust and taking up much-needed space, perhaps it’s time to question whether you really need them in your life. If not, donate any unused crockery or appliances to your local op shop, friends, or take them to the tip.

Finally, take scope of your bench space. If you’ve got more space in your cupboards now, consider using it to store items previously taking up room on your kitchen bench – you’ll love having this space to prepare meals!

2. In with the new.

If your kitchen is looking a little drab post-winter, now is the time to bring it to life! One easy way to add a bit of colour to your kitchen is by investing in some easy-care indoor plants (or even fake varieties), or creating your own indoor herb garden (you can find out more about creating an indoor garden for your kitchen.

Of course, plants aren’t the only things you can use to add colour to your kitchen. New accessories, like a bright rug for the floor, candles, storage jars and even brightly coloured bowls of fruit, can really help to add colour and fun to your kitchen space.

 3. Add some spring scents.

Whether it’s a vase of fresh spring flowers, or a new scented candle, there’s nothing like welcoming the advent of spring with some gorgeous new scents. If the weather’s warm enough, make sure to open the windows in your home, too. The fresh air will definitely help to revive both you and your kitchen after the long, dark winter months.

4. Give your linens some love.

From your hard-working tea towels, to chair covers, tablecloths and napkins – all deserve a little TLC this spring. Plus, with the sun shining, drying them outside (while enjoying a little time in the sun yourself) is easy.

 5. Hit refresh.

Of course, there comes a time when your kitchen just doesn’t respond to spring love the way it used to – for a number of reasons. If this sounds like your kitchen, perhaps its time to hit refresh!
